Merry Christmas & December Photo Project - Day Seventeen to Twenty Five

Posted on 13:17 by Unknown

Merry Christmas everyone!! Everyday we celebrate Jesus, but today is special  :o)

Today is the last day of the DPP, but I think I'll try to keep doing this. I really enjoy sharing random photos here and there when I can get them up.

The pictures are from our time on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. We had a blessed time with his parents and the girls LOVED the beach. They were our little mermaids! The last few pictures of us at the beach... we were filling the plastic water bottles with sea water. You'll know why later  :o)

We are now back home and enjoying a simple Christmas with family. We are also getting ready to travel to the states next week. I am tired, but I am looking forward to it as we will be going to a Missions Conference and seeing friends & family.

Merry Christmas and enjoy the New Year to come!

Back from Honduras & December Photo Project - Day Nine - Sixteen

Posted on 13:29 by Unknown

Wow... We had a great time in Honduras. It felt like home... it has been so long (too long) since we've felt that way. My husband is creating a post and will be sharing photos. Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare to sell a lot of our things here, pack up, drive across several borders and settle into our (hopefully) new home. We will keep you all updated with details... please pray for open doors through everything. Thank you!

Now here's my December Photo Project update... They were all taken in Honduras, but there will be more over at our RO4Y site. Enjoy!

FRESH tortilla everyday... 3 times a day. I am so spoiled now! They were traditionally soaked in lime solution, freshly hand-ground & handmade... delicious. Eaten with the typical beans, rice and cheese meal.

Pupusas.. YUM!

LOVE watching pottery being made... would love to learn someday

This tree was almost as old as the small town!

December Photo Project - Day Six

Posted on 08:10 by Unknown

I was going through my photography files and came across this shot taken a while back at an organic farm. This old house was the farmer's great-great grandparents home when they first bought the land and build the farm. It was beautiful... I could feel the richness of history surrounding the home. Even more amazing were the furniture that still stood there... decaying in the midst of vines, shrubs & wild flowers.

December Photo Project - Day Five

Posted on 14:25 by Unknown

Yesterday we went to the park to fly Naomi's kite... a crazy, colorful turtle catching the breeze. It has been windy over that last couple weeks and Ticos (Costa Ricans) here say that is a sign that summer is here & Christmas is coming.

December Photo Project - Day Three

Posted on 15:05 by Unknown

Today we received a Thanksgiving card from my sweet in-laws. My Mil (mother-in-law) loves to tuck in little things in cards that she sends us and today we found 3 beautiful fall leaves that she picked up from her backyard.

Some of you may laugh, but I really do miss the fall. I love the smells of firewood burning, the cool crisp air, the leaves changing colors and pulling out my snuggling winter clothes.

Thanks Marsha (my Mil) for the beautiful leaves to brighten our day :o)

December Photo Project - Day One

The essential joy of being with horses is that it brings us in
contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit, and fire.
~Sharon Ralls Lemon

I've loved horses almost my whole life and still do. Every time I visit these two guys that live in the barn next to our house... I'm swept away by vivid memories of the past... the horses I've rode, the wonderful smells, the competitions, the disappointments, the joy & happiness and feeling the weight of the world melt away while I'm on my horse.

I seriously miss the awesome feeling of the horse jumping over 4 - 5 feet high fences and the powerful surge that takes my breath away each time... the thrill never dies. Once you've experience that thrill... you can't get enough of it.

When I'm on a horse... riding or jumping... I feel like I'm flying. These beautiful creatures lend us the wings we lack.

I love it.

December Photo Project '09

December Photo Project

I found out about this project through Sara from Walk Slowly, Live Wildly. I am really excited to join in... simply post one photo for each day for the first 25 days of December. I know I will not be able to do it everyday, but I will do my best and maybe even display more than one photo to make up for the days I miss. I've always wanted to do a photo journal where I can reflect on my day and remember that moment captured by the click of my camera.

This is for everybody who enjoys photography. I encourage everybody who loves taking photos to join in!

For more information... check out the DPP blog.
